1. What is God?
There are many definitions in the world of what God is, eternal, infinite, powerful, Father, Mother etc. but the most important one is, God is Love. Clean and simple. The prophet John even says, who does not love others, does not know God. God literally is the force of love around us. He is also a spirit, which means you can't directly see him and he is light. That is why God is always with you and not far from us.
Unfortunately many people often only look superficially at the word 'God' and feel or see it as something outside of them, depending on the culture, religion or education they have. It is something much deeper within you, than just the outer form.
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:7-8)
God is a spirit (John 4:24)
God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5)
No one will say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!'; because the Kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21)
- Similarly, in the Islam religion, it is written,
Among His signs is that He created spouses for you of your own kind so that you might find tranquility in them. And He has placed affection and compassion between you. There are certainly signs in that for people who reflect. (Surat ar-Rum, 21)
- Similarly in the Buddhist religion, Gautama Buddha said,
Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule. (Buddha, Heart Sutra)
- And in the Hinduist religion, Lord Krishna said,
Worship me wherever I reside. From all ways to Me, the way of love is the best and happiest. (Srimad Bhagavatam, Chapter 6)
