Moonshire - Welcome Letter
The year of our lords is 360 AD,
Dear Traveller,
What can be said about the Lands of Moonshire? It are wonderful and mysterious lands which has many unexplored and rough areas. Never visited there? Then by all means you should! You will be surprised of how organised our lands are, how beautiful and authentic our cities and towns are and how well the people manage for a living. Our capital of Silverdale, which is situated at the east in the lands, has got many clean and neatly tiled streets as well as many shops and large buildings.
It is a comfortable place to live at with, on average, a good climate. Moonshire has a good economy. It has agriculture, fishing as well as mining. A variety of nice trading supplies come from Moonshire such as cotton, wool, furniture, delicate food and fragrances.
Next to this our city in the north east, Silver Dale’s port with its lighthouses and docks has ample opportunity to buy goods, find traders, education and entertainment. Don't forget to visit our famous Traveller's Inn where many people meet to trade and stay for the night. You can even meet famous people there!
Also armament and weaponry is produced by our hardworking dwarves and gnomes to the south of Moonshire at the city of Stone’s Way and transferred north to the Silverdale Port, to help in our defenses against pirates. Blacksmith guilds and mills run there heavily. Our gnomes are also great inventors and repairmen, though their planning can at times leave to be desired
To the North West we have Bremen which is a more 'rough' city. Well seasoned warriors live there, together with orcs and also halflings. Many of the orcs these days are integrating in our Moonshire kingdom having a variety of jobs. Many of the orcs are therefore friendly towards outsiders, trying to make a living. Like Stone's Way, Bremen has a lot of minerals, wood, ore to export.
When the weather is good, people go for the beaches. Derby has the best ones down the Derby Port that may even match the expensive ones on the Sivlerdale port in quality and beauty! However if you like a warmer climate, go to the southern jungle. We also have many people who once lived in the southern jungle and now work in the large cities of Silverdale, Bremen and Derby, which helps the economic growth and labour of our lands
The lands have plenty of forests, even with roads through them. There are very safe pathways, but people do not prefer to cross the forest all the time in the night as outlaws also hide in there. But it’s nothing that is not under control. Going through the river by boat costs a little, but it’s fast and it’s worth it.
In the south west, we have the city of Highwood. A place where the noble elves live. They are great tradesmen, as long as you treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve.
The Moonshire Kingdom has good relationships with other countries such as the neighbouring Logkarst, Vortax, Ansalon and Phalanx. Trade and travel can be long, but the roads are in general, well guarded.
And if you have had it all and want to go away, go to the 'Eastern Islands'. These are multiple islands owned by our Kingdoms together. The nature and climate is great, and the islands have a captivating beauty with regards to trees, colourful birds, great clear sea and so on. We have advanced boats going there. They have a captivating beauty. Once there, you never want to leave!
Our noble King is called King Archibald. Situated in the capital of Silverdale, he is very much a political as a business man, often seeming in a hurry. Few people see him often, but he puts the council there to good work.
Perhaps you become so curious that you want to visit us during your trip, then, by all means, you are of course very welcome!
